A Red Squirrel of the Vermilon River

With Boom in Valhalla, along with my other dogs awaiting me, I like to think, I needed to fill my mind in the woods, where Boom and I were so happy. I had been going to buy a new camera for a while, but with Boom's rapid aging I could not summon the interest in more technology. I really just wanted to spend the time with Boom. When he passed, I bought the new camera, a Nikon D 7000, and spend the time in the woods where I feel Boom still walks with me. I wonder if time in the wilderness breeds a form of mysticism, or spiritualism. The new camera shoots video as well; so, I set up this site as a secondary site for video, and I'll post as I learn to use it. I'll probably file it on memes along with the primary site, but not as often, as videos are difficult to make. That way you can skip the videos if you wish. Or even click onto to it from the primary site, and vice versa: Me Boomer and The Vermilon River

  3. Yes Gary, living in the woods certainly builds spirituality and a keener sense of perception. You are so connected with Boom, I fell he will stay by your side for all of time, just as our old shepherd Franz, who went to join the Big White Dog in the eternal forest glades in 1986 but still protects our house on Mt.Lofy, the parcel postman, and that is the third one since Franz has been gone in body, still just leaves a card at the gate and doesn't dare drive up into the yard.
Great that you got yourself the new toy. I have not yet been brave enough to try out the video component on mine. I can. Lovely red squirrel. It would be lovely to see the beavers at work too.

  5. That is a sweet pic of Boomer! Sometimes I think I have a million grey squirrels in my little forest. They chatter, throw down shells from nuts & fuss so that I wonder if they may attack. lol They never have. Great video!

  6. Nice new site. Hope the walks in the forest help.

The d7000 is a great bit of kit - it's what I use.
